Welcome to the Transnational Research Institute on Corruption (TRIC)
Mission: To conduct research on public corruption and devise ways to reduce it.
Objectives: TRIC is developing a newly coherent area of study, bringing together scholars who might not previously have seen synergy in their work, providing opportunities for PhD students, and relating locally, nationally and internationally to government agencies and NGOs that work in the corruption arena, or are affected by it, as well as with agencies like the United Nations, World Health Organization, as well as Australian agencies.
A key objective would be to obtain competitive grants to strengthen ANU’s research profile in this area.
TRIC is a collaborative Institute working with others in the ANU who have an interest in this field, and developing ANU critical mass. Most Colleges are involved.
While TRIC's initial focus is on public corruption, it is envisaged that TRIC will expand its scope to deal with corruption in the private sector and the NGO sector.
